Bring a channel from Slack

Import a channel’s history, with its threads and files.

  1. In Slack, a workspace admin exports the data: Admin → Workspace settings → Security → Import & export data → Export. Slack emails a link to the .zip.
  2. In Tuff, open a new, empty channel and press Import from Slack.
  3. Choose the .zip, then the channel to bring across.

The messages arrive with their threads, names, times and files. The .zip is read in your browser; only the chosen channel’s messages are sent to Tuff.

A standard Slack export leaves out private channels and direct messages, and on Slack’s free plan, anything older than 90 days.
